Before you begin to write an environmental policy, what exactly is an Environmental Policy?

An environmental policy is an organization’s public commitment to the environment. It should
bring together the environmental vision of all key stakeholders including, employees, directors,
partners, shareholders, customers, and suppliers.

An environmental policy is the initial building block to reducing an organization’s environmental footprint. An environmental policy should include considerations given to growth, expansion, and future long-term goals. When writing an environmental policy, keep it short and simple.

Create commitments that are realistic and achievable to the organization’s activities. However, before you begin, you must consider many issues.
